Some truth on the horizon...
Although I maintain that writing about culture causes a great deal of pain in the area around the frontal lobe of the human brain, I've realized a measure of comfort in realizing that I can be objective about a subjective topic with proper qualification. In other words, truth is an improper horizon for cultural analysis. My new horizon is loosely conceptualized as "community awareness that fosters ongoing and functional discourse."
